Website files and reproduction

This Oxford Journal of Archaeology submission web edition was prepared on 30 October 2026. It uses the current evidence register, figures and numerical outputs. The scientific archive is Zenodo v2, published on 12 October 2026.

Download the unchanged published archive (SHA256 checksum). Its internal folder is Supplementary material/. Historical filenames inside that archive are retained to preserve the deposited version. This website release changes presentation and access information, not the calculations.

Build and verification

Run python3 source/build_map.py --output . from the unpacked website folder to rebuild the page. The builder reads source/map_template.html, local_cases.json, map_points.json, map_routes.json, map_sourceIndex.json, map_table_s2.json and evidence_table.js. Rebuilding unchanged inputs reproduces index.html.

Run python3 source/verify_complete_matrix.py to check workbook exports, all full paths, numerical results, display geometry, local links and package hashes. build_manifest.json records authored-file hashes; FILE_INVENTORY.tsv lists packaged files. Netlify may rewrite page links or insert a hosting comment into served HTML. For a downloaded deployment, --served-html accepts only the recorded HTML-link variants and the identified hosting comment. It also allows _redirects and netlify.toml to be absent because Netlify uses these configuration files without serving them publicly. All scientific files remain subject to exact checksum checks. The default package check remains byte-exact and requires both configuration files.

The interactive map requires internet access for Leaflet and basemap tiles. Terrain calculations use the supplied cached tiles. See package_metadata.json for the scientific archive identifier and website release, and return to the map.
